Wedding Performance and Ipoh - Cameron!

Sup readers.

Holidays are really ending... how did the 8 months after A levels just ZOOM BY SO FAST.

The highlight of the first week of June was the IT Fair at Expo. Bought myself an Fujifilm XA2 camera that I'm really satisfied with! :) You can witness the vast quality difference between the photos I'm uploading later on taken by my XA2 v.s. IPhone 5.

14th June, went to bless a couple in marriage.
First time choreographing a dance for a wedding event and I'm pretty pumped and excited. Went to YCK for our usual Sunday class (practicing our inter item and waacking item as next Sunday is DFO!) Cabbed down to Orchard Parade Hotel for the ceremony.

My blessings to this loving couple, KangLing and Clement. Clement I hope that you've enjoyed dancing with us! :D

It was quite epic as we were seated as guests, and the other guests were rather sociable so they were trying to talk to us, asking if we were clement's poly friends. THE AGE DOESN'T MATCH YO. Ended up we said that we were his dance friends and he became a sporting guy that took up dancing class xD I love the surprise performance as we jumped out from the guest seats and danced on the red carpet and mini stage.

After wedding, rushed to Golden Mile to meet PA people, off to IPOH! :D

Ipoh Day 1
My advise to those who are taking the midnight coach like me is to sleep well the night before, because the coach journey is hell. You get woken up 2 times a night to go toilet... I mean when you need it you won't complain but it's so hard to fall asleep again after waking up. Also, never choose the front seats of the coach... the probability of getting awaken during "toilet breaks" is lower if you're sitting at the back, to not disrupt your beauty sleep.

Arrived in Ipoh at 5am?! Wandered around when the sky is dark, went to a wet market to witness some astonishingly fat TAU GAY. Ate dim sum for breakfast (we literally camped outside the store to wait for it to open as we dancers stretch on the road with our backpacks). So many mais X) siew mai, har mai, mai mai (JK), har gao, chee cheong fun, shui jin bao, yu tou, pai gu (THE TYPICAL SWEE CHOON DISHES YAS) hehehe

(NOT GONNA POST PHOTOS OF SO MANY FOOD BECAUSE THERE'S REALLY ALOT BEHIND, GO SEE FACEBOOK IF YOU'RE REALLY INTERESTED..)

Scouted a few hotels before deciding to resident in Hotel Ipoh City just to dispose our backpacks and off we go! :D

Ate dessert at roadside stall!

Went to this street with lots of graffiti (similar to Sg's Haji lane but this has way more varieties!)

Walked pass countless mama shops with ice creams and yes, ice cream party tonight! WOHOO MAGNUM GOLD AT $1.40?!

Visited a temple! :D I love the architecture of temples and the calm and peaceful environment it sets.

This is the real breakfast.. the dimsum at 6am was... supper?!

Trying to salvage the heat by drinking zhu zhe juice... good effort. BAOSHUN LAOSHI so cute use his fist because he finished his drink. xD

This indian prata shop just in the vicinity of our hotel is superb!  Tastiest maggie goreng I've eaten (I'm a fan of it and I always try all the maggie gorengs all around Sg!)

Had a whole chicken to ourselves after lunch...

Stopped by ipoh parade shopping mall awhile to shop! It's the only shopping mall in ipoh X)
We crossed many many roads, from the morning where no car was insight till the busy noon where we still crossed as if it was nothing. Seldom crossing stuffs like traffic lights here, JAY WALKING ALL THE WAYY.

In the evening, went to the park to jog. Jogged 6km and walked 2km for cool down. It's been so long since I last jogged and it feels pretty special to be jogging in another country :b

At night ... WOW RIGHT I FELT LIKE I WAS IN PARADISE, this was probably the happiest highlight of my day.

Went for dinner? Supper? IT WAS 12AM WHEN WE STARTED EATING.

Almost thought that our itinerary for Day 1 will never end as laoshi asked who wanna eat shao rou after supper ended at almost 2am...  Last station was a pasar malam near our hotel, soaking into local culture :)  (TIPS: NEVER TELL THEM WHICH COUNTRY YOU'RE FROM/YOU'RE A TOURIST, you are just letting the goods be price inelastic.)

Day 2

The hard boil eggs here are perfect. Breakfast before taking a coach to Cameron Highlands! The 2 hours bus ride was pretty bumpy and stirring from left to right NON STOP. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PEOPLE WHO GET CAR SICK EASILY (not me)

Began our journey into the forest! This is me emerging from a successful super risky two planks bridge.

With my favourite couple! Sihui and jiangda!
My roommate, liyun laoshi that took care of me like a mum!
I WEAR PRETTY FLOWERS ON MY EARS EVERYDAY, ALLL DAY ER DAY.

Visited another temple cause it's chu yi~
Addicted to the guilian hua xiang!

Walked to the strawberry farm where strawberries are grown!
Feat. WeiHong's donald duck face.
The strawberry farm that grows grapes above your head.

HELLO I AM A TOURIST. WENT TO THE FARM WITH LOTS OF FLOWERS AND ORGANIC CROPS.

venturing deeper into the forest round 2...
my x-A2 advanced filter, chose the green colour filter and my forest looked like this. Rather cool right?

Ended the day finally with a magnum gold YAYYY.

We've covered 36km up and down hills and slopes today.. GOOD JOB! CELEBRATING WITH A BANG! STEAMBOATTT. Only eating the side with the tomyam base. DINOSAUR BECOMES A HERBIVORE, helped to finish 60% of the vege, I really prefer vegetable to meat actually.. X) REFRESHING AND CLEAN.

Day 3

Woke up early and went trekking in the mountains! This is really an adventure because of the wet weather in Cameron, making the soil all muddy and slippery. On the mini van to the mountains. Everyone was dozing off like left and right early in the morning and no one was fully awake even when we started trekking haha.

BECAUSE I HAVE DRANK FRESH BAMBOO WATER BEFORE, RIGHT FROM THE TREE. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE (who cares how unglam this photo is hahah) the word refreshing can finally be used literally here.

The trekking course involved rocks, streams, uphill, down slopes (probably the toughest) and clinging on the dear grass for propel yourself up steep slopes.

FRESH LEMON GRASS FROM THE FOREST, super bitter :( Asked to taste it raw as a spice.

OMGOMG THE BANANA LEAF IS TALLER THAN ME, HELP ME TAKE PICTURE! this really explains why they can be good tools to construct public toilets...
A group photo with our tour guide, a local orang asli that has been leading tours to search for flowers for 30 years! (You see that dog at the right side of the picture, omg i'm super not dog friendly and there are two of them. Luckily they're quite tamed and helpful in leading us around)

EVERYONE'S JAWS DROPPED when we saw the RAFFLESIA from afar. Despite the trekking journey (4 hours into the mountains) seems never ending, the sight of this rafflesia was really worthy. IT'S SO HUGE, AND IT HAS NO PUNGENT SMELL. It was said that the smell only comes when it's withering.
IDK what I'm doing... this wheat is so pretty?! All the random outgrowth in the forest, random red flower from nowhere are all so pretty.

A photo of my leaf tattoo when liyun laoshi ask me to put my face near my leg so that it can be seen, quite a challenge.

Had our lunch at a chinese restaurant, visited the 3rd temple this trip that was nearby.

ATTACKED ALL THE VEGES ONCE AGAIN.
This is my favourite dish hehe

Had our routine meeting every night in LaoShi's room.
I have no idea what meal is this i lost track but we ate prata (Y).

Did a therapeutic foot massage after dinner (smelly beans steamboat again!)

Starbucks back to the hotel as I survive another hour of dance meeting with WeiHong for the chinese dance performance.

Next morning, bidded goodbye to our HillView Inn Resort! :D

DAY 4
I was on a mission to wake everyone up to see sunrise. The deal was if I could wake up then everyone will go watch sunset with me AHAH (I'M A HOPELESS SLEEPER)  Despite sleeping at 2am last night (due to the meeting) and needing to wake up at 6am, the sunrise was a motivation great enough to drag me out of bed.

Had breakfast at a prata shop not worth mentioning at all, as we continue trekking. ZhongYi, WeiHong and I went up this hill and flight of stairs to get a breathtaking view of Cameron Highland.

See I help him take photo such a nice photo in the lalang field but the one he helped me to take... can't even be uploaded...

Went to Robinson Falls, the first time I see a natural waterfall. It was said that Robinson fell down here???

Dropped by farms again to get some fresh strawberries and vegetables.

Took coach back to Ipoh, finally got to taste our Shao Rou in some atas restaurant that was disappointing, only aesthetically looking good... :( The standard is really far from hawker stalls.

Shopped around Ipoh Parade again, bought 2 caps for myself and went for dinner! Ate Satay, soup, chicken feet (i don't) and this super interesting fruit dessert that is super big serving and yummy!

Took the midnight coach back to Singapore, home sweet home! :D
