CNY & VALENTINES

 

 Hi readers.

Gone were the days where i take pride in blogging, taking photos specially for my blog while now it's just a mass (mess) of words which i feel turned off reading it myself. From a passion to a responsibility where I squeeze up time just for the sake of an 'update'.

Can't stand my blog being the way it is anymore! From this post onwards, I'm gonna fill it with more pictures :)

It's mid Feb, valentines day is just over... I mean spending the last 5 years of my valentines day alone isn't much of a big deal. Let's take a trip down memory lane to recall what I did for valentines since Sec 4 :b Why Sec 4? Because as far as my memory brings me to, I don't remember caring about this 14th of Feb till I'm 16 haha. Okay, I need to give credits to the other guys who gave me gifts when I was sec 2 and 3 during valentines? HAH (shameless).

14th Feb 2012 Sec 4.
This is the age where you're feel like you're some big shot. Probably because you're the oldest in the school already and you feel so much more mature than everyone else and find them childish. Of course, looking back now it was really silly but they were good memories. It's youth, it's meant to be silly.

Quoted from myself then, "Well, i received a bouquet of roses, 10 stalks. Really shocked, unexpected, extremely happy really. But, i know i can't expect anything yea, i don't want to too. :) Life still goes on, but thanks for making today such a wonderful day ;)" (LOL)

Okay, so i had a crush. Um.. it's the same guy that I've had a crush on since Sec 1 to Sec 4, pretty loser right. And now I don't even talk to him anymore xD I remember I baked a heart shaped cake or something  (or is it heart shaped cookies I really dk) and met him early in the morning in his class before school starts. He was from the next class. Called Cheryl along so that she can help us take a polaroid photo (i sort of planned this whole thing LOL). The epic part was when prefects came and wanted go chase us to the parade square for assembly. I clearly remember it was Anthony with his junior prefects. He peeped through the window and saw me, deliberately asked his prefects to stand a row outside the class to embarrass me HAHA. During recess, I went into his class to pass him a card (was it? IDK why i didn't pass it to him earlier) but when I went into his class, this woman (girl) from his class raged at me LOL? I think it was quite a huge card so she saw and she scolded me something like got your own class don't want go always come other people's class LOL and she stormed out of the class. I THINK SHE HAD A CRUSH ON HIM TOO HAH. When recess ended, I think one of his friends passed me a bouquet of flowers saying it's from him. (It's those styrofoam roses and the school was selling it). I remember I kept counting like how much it cost and it wasn't cheap and I kept thinking why did he spent so much money HAHA. But I was really happy to receive the flowers, from someone I like. At that point I felt that the flowers were like a false hope, he bought them because he felt bad for everything that I've done for him but he didn't do anything. And I was quite mad at him doing that out of guilt because it totally gives people the wrong idea. All those while I was really holding on to the intangible, negligible glimmer of hope and it was sparkles of optimism for me.

Also during this day, we were all praying for a dear school mate of ours called Bellamy, who was fighting cancer. #PrayforBellamy trended on Twitter the night before as we all folded paper cranes and wrote our wishes. He left us on valentines day and many of our hearts sank upon hearing the news. Went to his wake and knew more about him, he was really respectable and I won't want to forget this fighter. Valentines day had a new meaning to me after this day, it was a day that I remember to count my blessings and to love life deeply. 

14th Feb 2013 JC1

Spending valentines with my JC friends that I've known for 2 weeks. There was an upgrade, the school sells fresh roses instead of styrofoam roses HAHA! Once again, quoted from myself then, "My date today is AprilTan! xD We were feeling like loners so we bought roses for each other to not make ourselves feel so lonely." 

IDK how do I even comprehend that word lonely when I was 17 but I'm sure to be able to type it out like no big deal I wasn't dealing with the full scale of it. As we were holding our lessons to the lab for a practical class, the boys in our class were fooling around saying who was our secret admirer, shooting arrows and accusing random boys in our class as our secret valentines. I remember I had ballet lesson on this day and our teacher released us late from CHEM SPA causing me to be late for ballet. 

14th Feb 2014 JC2

Quoted from myself then, "Received so many gifts from my dearest girls from class and dancers. Thanks for the rose wei jie!  ;) maybe you don't need a valentine to celebrate this joyous friendship day! Stayed back in sch to study with sheryl, I gotta emphasis on how she's the most patient and nicest girlfriend I have in class. She knows her stuff and is willing to teach me patiently without letting me feel that im wasting or hindering her own revision.  Also, she shares her music with me ! Simple yet sweet action, I think she's my valentines for the day!! Next time the guy that has her as his girlfriend is sure a lucky guy!!"

This is sheryl, met her at NTU Kpop concert that day. That's to my student SY for giving me a free ticket to the concert! :)

I feel like sharing music was a really sweet gesture because a music playlist is quite personal and you guys have to quite close (physically) to share that earpiece hahha! I was very contented with the love i was showered by my JC friends :)

Did some marshmellow chocolate fondue with wenle and night before and bought a whole styrofoam box to school. Distributed to the whole class and some of my dancers. Many of the girls baked as well, such a joy giving. 

Oh i had a crush too, it was the same guy from JC1-JC2. Did a valentines challenge with my Project group mates which is proudly my SR072 family now haha. We were supposed to give a valentines gift to someone of the opposite gender from our class. It was a photoframe with three heart shaped paper cut outs inside and you could write anything inside the paper hearts. They didn't know he was my crush but I just acted like I just had to do this because it's a challenge haha. I remember recording the reactions of the recipients of the gifts, from OHH THANK YOU to WHY ARE YOU GIVING ME THIS? LOL! 

14th Feb 2015 POST a-levels? 

I can't remember what I did on this day but from my instagram, I assumed I went for dance training and worn red? Maybe I took a break from all these valentines stuffs HAHA.

14th Feb 2016 

For the past valentine's day, I've spent it as a student. This valentines, I spent it as an working adult. This gap year was really an insight to my future working life and full time career. Was waiting for someone to ask me out for a date but dance called me first.. Was scheduled to start a Sexy K-pop class today at the Bukit Timah branch and in the head, i was thinking: It's okay, there's still time for a dinner. Realised it was a Sunday and I have my dance commitments, technically it's an optional class but as performance in nearing (5th March), I need to be down for practices. So rushed from BT back to Yio Chu Kang, drenched in the heavy downpour. Night time? Spent it bonding with DFS my lovely crew as it was our first crew training after the auditions. It was a bonding session and got to know more about my crew mates. Lynette the dolphin ~ ~ Why dolphin? Because dolphins are pretty (they move elegantly and they look pretty too) and they're intelligent. Kind of glad my day just gets filled with activities without me planning it because I avoided the disappointment of spending a boring valentines at home doing nothing. Wished all my friends a happy valentines too :) Kinda started valentines early on 13th Feb and extended it to 15th Feb as I celebrate it with my lovable kids and my class ♥ 

  

YES that's how I spent my past 5 years of valentines day!

除夕夜. Went out with my SR072 family :) Was telling my mom that I'm heading out in the afternoon and she was like who meets on new years eve. Well, we all do! :)

Went to AMK hub to eat Ajisen + Fruit Paradise, all their fruit platters had beef gelatin and I can't take beef but oh well.. Let's choose to focus on the gelatin more than the beef! Even our meet up reminds us of the day we do projects... I was the earliest on the day (actually I'm usually on time or late hahaha) and SYL is always just on time (explains why he always complete his work in the middle of the night before the next morning where we need to submit) and the rest of them are just late late late hahah! Edan was always sleepy/ sleeping and not surprised when we're halfway through our meals and she just woke up xD

Went to the arcade. I have no idea why my friends are so into that dance game. We should totally just go LH's house instead and on some kpop channel and dance along AHHAHA Played the red green blue slamming buttons game and some killing ugly creatures game hahah I was incharge of turning the wheel. Somehow other than our faces which writes: "OLD", I never feel like a 20 years old when I spent time with them! We even went to the neoprint machine to take photo the cheapskate way, they have superb lighting inside for indoor photos. (MY IDEA LOL WHATS NEW NETTE)

Waited for time to pass in Mac Donalds playing chirates and that fake word guessing game which I suck at. 

Went over straight to reunion dinner, met with Mom. We were early so we chilled by Singapore River. Afterwards went Mac donalds to snack where I met a hot Russian! He was totally checking me out and he popped the silence with 'hey, you're really tall.' I just smiled awkwardly DERH, I was in the midst of my scrabble game hahah. 'your phone is cracked.' Me: 'Yeah, I sort of dropped it but it's still functioning.' He got my attention, I stopped my game and looked up. *Note that my mom was with me the whole time* 'You know I seldom find Asian girls beautiful but I find you beautiful. Arey you local?' Me: 'haha thank you, it must be because of the makeup but yeah I'm local. Fully local.' 'is that Chinese you're speaking with your mom? I've always wanted to learn Chinese.' 'yup we were speaking Chinese.' *in the meantime trying to translate our whole conversation to my mom who was asking and asking and he had no idea he was the topic lol. So we continued talking for awhile before my Mom signal me to leave. AWW, good-looking, tall, shy. TICK TICK TICK. Mom was telling me not to date a caucasian because there would be language barrier for her. LOL is he dating me or dating you haha.

Reunion dinner at Beng Hiang restaurant at OCBC center. Dad isn't with us as he went Vietnam to spent the new year with his god son. No photos as it's not really our family tradition to take photo?? I was the youngest and it always feels like I couldn't fit into any of the conversations but thankfully this year I talked a lot to WH korkor hahaha about dance and gymming :)

CNY DAY 1. I stayed at home cause supposed to go to my paternal family but dad's overseas YEA.

CNY DAY 2. YAY! To my maternal side! My best cousins :D Enjoyed my time with time and can't wait for our  batam-bali trip together please make it happen! It feels good that everyone's growing up together :)

Played the whole day of cards. Introduced Resistance going on a mission to them! They were faulting me for everything! Talking to much, being too quiet.. haha! I was a resistance for 5 out of 7 rounds and 3 out of 5 rounds I partnered JX?! Who is my primary school cousin and who was super lost at this game because it's kinda a bit higher level so he sabo-ed me, didn't help me on my mission and yes I lost all the rounds hahaha. But it was super coincidental that I kept drawing the same partner each round!

Especially this MIN JIA keep saying I suspicious when she's obviously the resistance and I'm the angel Merlin.

Always don't wanna leave and finish playing cards... time always passes so fast with them. 

Day 3. DID NOTHING.

DAY 4. Went to LH's house to give him a belated birthday surprise! PEEKABOO! Bought a bag from The Assembly Store as his present!

They say I look like I'm going for a jog but hello this is casual fashion okay hahha. Went to Shaw @ Lido to watch Deadpool. It was simply amazing. Was never a fan of Marvel but this was really good hahha I was having doubts at first purely because the movie was M18. To all those who haven't watched it, please go and watch it! If you don't have anyone to watch it with, ask me to watch it with you cause it's that good, I wouldn't mind watching it twice HAHA

Went for dinner @ Monster Curry, my first time dining here. I would say they have a generous serving with lots of rice that is topped with super yummy curry. Tried level 2 curry today gonna try level 3 next time :) Discussed about our Gold Coast trip 2017! Don't worry, as long as there's a lynette inside, I will make things happen :)
