Preserving that innocence

Hello readers. I'm in a relatively good mood today so I've decided to blog :D

Maybe I'll just have a short update every weekend to share my joy with everyone.

Today, I'm gonna talk about my journey as an instructor teaching kids hiphop.

My first few classes was with the serangoon branch kids. It was a overwhelmingly big class and each time I went I felt super stress with all the parents the room. My initial concept was to push and challenge them so my choreography stirred to the rather difficult type for them. Some smarter ones got it, some were just following blindly. It was like an open class kind of thing where I only see them once in a month or so, so there was no follow up. The only kid I bond to was a small boy. Cause his mom forgot about time and didn't pick him up after class. So we just chatted and chatted. He's a very intelligent kid and has all the knowledge for planets that even I'm not aware of. I remember he loves Hershey chocolate :) I was thinking of buying for him, but I never got to teach that class again. Also, there's risele who keeps bugging me for my Instagram haha. Then I became quite attached to her. During concert, I visited them and they were super glued to me. All sitting on my lap and around me, other seniors tried to play with them but they only want me hehe. I feel so loved. One girl even say: teacher why you cut short hair you last time long hair prettier. But now you still very pretty. Aww and Vanessa was like: kids don't lie. Aww, that made my day haha! It was damn sweet when they were snatching to hold my hand while waking beside me !

Then, I took on sengkang (yio chu kang now) kids class. It was a small class and I taught them easier KPOP songs. I managed to bond with all of them individually and they're really super lovable. Cherie is super naughty and she is the laziest, always asking for breaks. Chloe is shyly cheeky but she's the most obedient. When they don't listen to me and influence Chloe to play with them, I always tell Chloe say: Come you're a good girl I teach you the dance steps we don't care about the rest.'' And not long after, when those playing see that they're being ignored, they'll on obediently join back class xD there was so Many promises to be made with them. Negotiating about how long the water break should be and how many times they needed to dance. I love their innocence and their genuinity. One time I was at rivervale plaza Mac studying and Chloe was with her dad and she saw me. She didn't want to leave but didn't dare to approach me either. She was just standing there looking at me. I was quite immersed in my studying and it took me awhile to notice her. 

Dad: I thought just now you have a lot of things to tell teacher, why are you so quiet now?

Chloe: //smiles shyly//

Me: //heart melted//

Chatted awhile with her dad about her behavior and progress in class! :)

Now to the student that I feel closest to: Marabelle! Seriously, she's a cutie pie. If you guys saw my insta vid, she's the one that held her plaits and jump around during the dance xD she said if she keep turning her head her two plaits will keep slapping her, so she asked me for permission to do that xD every lesson, she'll have so much things to share with me! But I can't exactly chat with her because I need to teach. She'll keep telling me about her trip to the park, or her friend coming her house tonight, her trip to the zoo. Yesterday after class, she ran after me, leaving her mom behind to tell me about her fun day at the zoo. After all this training, I did acquire some skills to connect to the same level as kids xD then her mom caught up and say: so you ran all the way just to talk to teacher xD 

After that I had to rush to hougang cc for perf so I didn't take bus 50. Last few weeks she noticed that we take the same bus home and this week she actually wanted to continue her sharing w me on bus! Wen she saw I board another bus she was so disappointed and she tell her mummy: teacher today never take bus 50... 

Also, there were another 3 kids that came for trial lesson yesterday and I interacted very well with them. No longer any awkwardness now, teasing them a lil here and there. Communicating at their level heheh. It's really funny and fun! Can tell that the parents who were observing the class was quite pleased with me. I hope I'll see them joining class officially next week, it'll be a great acknowledgement for my effort! :)

Okay today I taught another kids class again. Normally I'll be a co-instructor for this class but today Jacky couldn't come in time for time so he last minute asked me to replace his class. I had no time to prepare at all!!! The best part was I choreographed while I teach xD felt like I didn't give my utmost effort as I was unprepared :( 

Then I was not feeling so well so I gave advanced class a miss, but I joined crew training. Danced for like 2 hours plus non stop until for a moment my ankle gave way and now I think it's a lil injured haah >< 

Okay time to complete my bio tutorial!
